Membership in Independent Youth Association is voluntary and can be nominal, regular, associate and horary.

Nominal member can become every Croatian citizen from fifteen to eighteen years of age by fulfilling application form. Nominal members of the Association have the right to participate in the work of the Association and its bodies, but are not included in decision-making processes. Every nominal member of the Association at the age of eighteen can become regular member by statement and paying membership fee.

Regular member can become every Croatian citizen with legal capacity, from eighteen to twenty-nine years of age by fulfilling the application form, paying the membership fee and by defining the wanted status of regular member. All regular members of the Association have the right to participate in the work of the Association and its bodies, and can elect and be elected in the bodies of the Association. Every regular member at the age of thirty is losing its status of regular member of the Association and automatically gains the status of associate member of the Association.

Associate member of the Association can become every Croatian citizen with legal capacity or foreign national, regardless of age by fulfilling the application form and defining wanted status of associate member. Associate members of the Association have the right to participate in the work of the Association and its bodies but are not included in decision making processes.

Honorary member can become every Croatian citizen or foreign national regardless of age and every legal entity registered in Croatia or foreign legal entity which considerably contributed to the work of Independent Youth Association. Decision on honorary membership is made by Assembly at the suggestion of any member of the Association with previously submitted explanation. Honorary members of the Association have the right to participate in the work of the Association and its bodies but are not included in decision making processes.


All members of the Association have the rights to:

  • be informed about Association’s work
  • present their opinions, proposals and critics
  • participate in the work of the Association and its bodies
  • have an insight in all the documents and decisions made by Associations bodies
  • suggest new programmes, projects and activities of the Association
  • contribute in achieving goals of the Association in accordance with its capabilities

Only regular members of the Association can elect and be elected in the bodies of the Association.

 

All members of the Association have the obligation to:

  • respect the Law of the Republic of Croatia, Statute of the Association and the decisions made by the bodies of the Association
  • consistently carry out all the commitments undertaken in the work of the Association
  • pay the membership fee in accordance with the decision of the Assembly of the Association
  • participate in the work of the bodies of the Association
  • respect and protect the reputation and interests of the Association

 

Steering Committee of the Association can express a warning to a member of the Association who fails to comply with the Law and/or Statute of the Association and violates the reputation of the Association.

Steering Committee of the Association can publicly commend a member of the Association who is responsible for bigger reputation of the Association or for outstanding achievements in the work of the Association.

 

Membership in the Association can cease:

  • by voluntary withdrawal from membership of the Association at the request of the Association member
  • with unexpected lack of validity at two consecutive sessions of the Assembly of the Association
  • by excluding a member from membership of the Association based on the decision of the Assembly of the Association

 

Assembly of the Association shall issue a decision on the exclusion from membership of the Association to a member who fails to comply with the Law and/or the Statute of the Association and violets the reputation of the Association, at the suggestion of any member of the Association with a previously submitted explanation. Member of the Association has the right to appeal against the decision for exclusion from membership of the Association within 14 days from the date of receipt of the decision. The Assembly of the Association reviews the decision to exclude from the membership of the Association at the first session of the Assembly.

All members of the Association are required to pay membership fee. The decision on the amount and terms of payment of membership fees for each category of membership of the Association shall be made by the Assembly of the Association. 

The records of the membership of the Association is kept by the Secretary of the Association. The Secretary solves all issues related to membership of the Association.
